It is ... the case that in no part of the state have pro-independence/pro-unification arguments persuaded a majority of that territory’s inhabitants. But as we have seen, Wales remains the part of the state that is most supportive of the maintenance of a union with some if not necessarily all of its current constituent units. While developments elsewhere may yet see the union brought to an end, our survey of public attitudes suggests that the Welsh are unlikely to be the instigators of such a development.
