“I can't see what you gain now from continuing to be part of this mess,” George Monbiot

More details

“We know what happened and here's Scotland which, very much against the broad popular will, was dragged out of the EU, and still suffers this sort of quasi-colonial rule from Westminster.”

Monbiot said that he thinks Scotland’s politics are “very different” including a much stronger sense of social justice and hope. “I always see this whenever I come north of the border. I feel I'm in a very different political place, and yet it's constantly dragged back towards this much more reactionary conservative English politics,” he said.

“Obviously, in England we'll miss you because Scotland has helped us to be a much more progressive country. But, you know, there's nothing in it for Scotland from what I can see. I can't see what you gain now from continuing to be part of this mess.”
