As regular readers will be aware, I have spent the last five years or so trying to persuade people that the Scottish Government being indispensible to Scotland’s cause and the SNP being the party of government meant that the only logical course of action was to put all our effort into trying to get the SNP back to being the ‘party of independence’ it was when I joined more than 60 years ago.
I readily allow that I enjoyed little success.
